It is 7:45 am and I am on the wheels, on the way to drop children to school. We are talking on many topics. Suddenly I notice the foot-over bridge at Filmnagar and here is the conversation:
Papa: Sonu, Monu, do you notice the bridge?
Sonu: Yes, Papa.
Papa: it is across the road. Do you know what do we call such a bridge?
{A little pause}
Papa: Do you know the name or not?
Monu: Yes
Papa: Ohh great. So, what do we call it?
Monu: A level bridge!
Papa: Ohh wow, that’s interesting. I never knew that.
Sonu: Papa, it is also called over-bridge.
Papa: Awesome, Sonu. The bridge is over the road, you see. But, can we take our car on the bridge?
Sonu: No!
Monu: Yes
Sonu: No, there are steps. So, we can not take our car on that.
Monu: O yes!
Papa: So, we can go over it on foot. So, it is also called a “foot-over-bridge”.
Monu: It is not a weighbridge, Papa.
Papa: So, what is weighbridge?
Monu: If we step on the weighbridge, it will show our weight.
Papa: Ohh great. You remember that too. Do you remember, where did we see a weighbridge?
Monu: No, Papa.
Papa: Ok, let’s see where we can see a weighbridge. I will find out.
And we reach our destination.
If we just listen also, a great conversation is possible with children.
